Worthy Brother Knight Tom,
I hope this message finds you well.
I wanted to remind you about the upcoming Fourth Degree Exemplification on
Saturday, July 19th. This is a special opportunity to take the next step in
your journey as a Knight of Columbus. Our Council records indicate that you
are a member in the Third Degree.
Why Become a Fourth Degree Sir Knight?
When I reflect on why I joined the Fourth Degree, several key reasons come
to mind:
* Becoming part of a community of Sir Knights dedicated to making a
positive impact in the Church and society.
* Advancing to the Patriotic Degree, the highest degree of our Order.
* The opportunity to join the Honor Guard and participate in important
Church and community events.
* Supporting Veterans through initiatives like our Hockey Night
Fundraiser, Veterans’ Mass, Rosary, and Luncheon, and cookouts for Veterans
at the South Park Inn in Hartford.
* Honoring our nation through efforts such as flag sponsorship at the
Iwo Jima Memorial, flag installations at Fairview Cemetery, and marching in
the Memorial Day Parade.
* Standing in solidarity with our priests, deacons, and pastors as
members of the Patriotic Degree.
A Historic Year for the Fourth Degree
This year marks the 125th Anniversary of the Fourth Degree, officially
celebrated on February 22nd. The milestone was honored with a grand
Exemplification and Mass at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in New York, where
over 700 candidates, including 44 from Connecticut, took this important
step.
A Unique Opportunity to Grow the Fourth Degree
In honor of this anniversary, districts worldwide are striving to recruit
at least 125 new Sir Knights in an Exemplification this year.
This Exemplification is particularly special due to the updated policy
allowing wives and friends to attend as guests. This can be a meaningful
experience for your family.
